Assessment of the economic quality of life of the population and perception of the impact of ecotourism on well-being

Annotation. The article examines the economic quality of life of the population and the perception of the impact of ecotourism on well-being. Scientific approaches to the concept of quality of life, its economic dimension and the role of subjective assessments in well-being studies are summarized. It is shown that the assessment of economic quality of life should combine objective indicators with respondents’ own perceptions. Special attention is paid to ecotourism as a factor of local development that may affect employment, infrastructure, business activity and the general perception of quality of life. The empirical basis of the study is a survey of 34 respondents. The findings show that income, income stability and employment opportunities receive the lowest evaluations, while the potential of ecotourism is perceived mostly positively. The highest scores were given to statements about increasing regional investment attractiveness, improving infrastructure and the overall impact of ecotourism on quality of life.
