Annotation. The article examines manifestations of land subsidence and structural deformation in areas affected by anthropogenic pressure and evaluates their socio-economic and environmental consequences. International scientific studies indicate that anthropogenic factors are the dominant drivers of contemporary land subsidence processes, accounting for approximately 77% of recorded cases worldwide, with this share reaching 91% in Europe. Areas with a high probability of subsidence cover nearly 2.2 million km? and pose a potential threat to about 21% of global GDP, highlighting the large-scale economic risks associated with these processes. The study analyzes both direct and indirect economic losses caused by subsidence, including the costs of infrastructure repair and maintenance, depreciation of real estate value, disruption of urban services, and interruptions in economic activity. Particular attention is paid to environmental consequences, such as changes in the hydrological regime, soil degradation, expansion of flood-prone areas, and chemical contamination of natural ecosystems. The practical significance of geodetic and satellite monitoring systems is also examined as effective tools for the early detection of ground deformation and risk management. Modern monitoring technologies, including satellite interferometry and continuous geodetic observations, allow for the identification of deformation trends, enable timely engineering interventions, and support the development of preventive measures. Based on a comparative analysis of international experience (the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, China, the United States, India, and Ukraine), key strategies for minimizing the consequences of land subsidence are identified, and recommendations are proposed for improving approaches to managing technogenic deformation processes in Ukraine, particularly in the Kryvyi Rih mining basin.
Keywords: land subsidence; structural deformation; anthropogenic impact; geodetic monitoring; consequences of subsidence; risk management.
