Trekking tourism factors in the Carpathian region of Ukraine

Annotation. Trekking tourism in the Carpathians is one of the most dynamic and attractive types of active recreation, offering a unique combination of natural beauty, cultural heritage and physical activity. The key drivers of trekking tourism in the region are the diversity of landscapes, the availability of marked routes, rich flora and fauna, and the preserved traditions of the local population. The region offers a wide range of trekking routes, from easy walks to challenging hikes, meeting the needs of both beginners and experienced tourists. The trekking tourism infrastructure includes a developed network of shelters and mountain huts that ensure the comfort and safety of travellers. Environmental awareness and sustainable practices are important aspects that are taken into account in the development of trekking tourism in order to preserve the natural and cultural wealth of the Carpathians. This includes measures to reduce the environmental impact of tourism and support local communities. The Carpathian region has great potential for further development of trekking tourism, which can contribute to socio-economic growth and improve the quality of life of the local population. At the same time, it is important to ensure a balanced approach to tourism development in order to preserve the uniqueness and originality of the Carpathian region for future generations.
